
First International Conference of Critical Care Nurses' Association of Nepal

Critical Care Nurses Association of Nepal (CCNAN) is a nursing society started to develop Critical Care Nursing in Nepal. It is a non profitable organization including a voluntary group from critical care units in Nepal dedicated to improve the knowledge and skills of the fellow colleagues. CCNAN is focusing on improving the educational standards and skills that are required in this highly specialized field of nursing care. CCNAN is conducting various Training Programs and educational seminars on Critical care nursing in coordination with other societies.
The concept of Critical Care Nursing emerged during the Crimean War in 1850s, when Florence Nightingale demanded that most seriously ill patient were placed in beds near to nursing station so that they could be constantly observed closely focusing on separate geographical areas and good quality services to critically ill patient. Afterward, more ICUs were developed; different Nursing Association was formed to enhance Critical Care Nursing to reach the current level. Critical Care Nursing is an emerging discipline in the field of Nursing. Providing quality care in critically ill patients encompasses nurses from various hospitals as well as challenges.
Critical Care Nurses Association of Nepal (CCNAN) is conducting Critical Care Nurse Instructor Training Program (CCNTP) in Grande International Hospital for duration of six months. .
